Long weekending

Finally a nice sunny long weekend! Peter bought himself a new hybrid golf stick and managed to get in 2 games over the weekend. Nicole and Madison went to Perth on Saturday and met up with Janelle and they did some dress shopping. Janelle is still in a dilemma about a ball dress and is in love with this purple one, only it has a very large price tag!

Sarah did some more sewing and made this little bag....

We went for a walk over at Koombana which is very pretty with all the flowers out...

Mum J turned 81 on Sunday and we enjoyed pumpkin scones for afternoon tea...

Sarah was in her glory after being given a heap of "old" stuff and fabric from Nanna to sew with.....When we got back from Busselton Sarah made us tea which was yummy Dahl and Chicken rice with papadums....Today we went for a walk at the "Tuart Walk" to see if we could spot some spider orchards. Sarah managed to find the first ones...

And lastly a picture of Janelle at the Med Ball last Friday night at the Perth Convention Centre...

Farewell old fridge

Dad's poor old fridge finally decided to call it a day. This is no ordinary fridge. It has been in the family and served us well for well over 35 years.

Here's proof of that......

Rodney and Steven turning 5, next to dear fridge they are now 40!

It has now been replaced with this sleek new one, but alas its just not the same!

Weekending

Rain, rain and more rain. Every weekend has been wet lately. While its great for the dams its starting to be a bit annoying!

We had a quiet weekend. Peter managed to get a game of golf in with Wayne, Nicole and I sorted some things out for her birthday, got wet walking the dogs both days and planted some more vegies in the garden.
Sarah had a busy weekend embarking on a new sewing project....a quilt.

She cut out 48 6" squares.....Sorted out a pattern she liked......And sewed for hours.....It is looking very good but she still has a while to go adding the borders, then quilting and binding the quilt. It keeps her busy!

Weekending

Birthday celebrating continued with Peter turning 48 on Saturday...

He spent most of the day digging in the drain pipes from the new patio......
And shopping for a new DVD recorder and finally settled on this Panasonic one.....
Jean and Gordon called in with birthday wishes and Jean gave me this card.......
Sarah set us up some drinks and nibbles.....
Sarah's bedroom stayed in this state most of the weekend after her dilemma of having nothing to wear on Friday night. She normally has her room very tidy....
We couldn't resist buying this Boronia plant, such a bright pink....

More yummy baking....

Then it was time for us to take Janelle back to Perth after a few days home on a study break. We took the dogs for a drive and walked them along the Matilda Bay foreshore up towards Nedlands and through UWA. There was a bit of sunshine about so lots of people were out enjoying themselves before another week of predicted rain.....

Hopefully that was my last trip on Old Coast Road for a while with the new freeway extension opening in 6 days. For so long everyone has stared down the nice new bitumised road. I tried to get a snap of the start from Bunbury end....

Chinese

Tonight we all went out to China City for a bit of a birthday celebration tea. Sarah couldn't decide what to wear and made us run late........
We had a nice choice of various dishes.........
A chopstick fight over food.....

Still can't take her anywhere! .........

A surprise birthday cake.......

The owner of the restaurant came and gave us all a shoulder massage after our meal.....

It was a nice evening...

And always great to have all our girls in the car together......

Father's Day (and Birdie) Weekend

Happy Father's Day to our Dads of the family!

Yesterday was another cold wet miserable day.

Sarah finished another bag, this one is her favourite as she loves the colours and she is very happy with the way it turned out........

Mum and Dad J called in for lunch on their way home from 10 weeks at Carnarvon and Dongara....

Nicole showed them some of her New Zealand photos....
Today we did some more harvesting (the last of our cauliflours).....
Sarah then made a homegrown salad for Father's Day lunch.......

The sun eventually came out and Lucy enjoyed the warmth......

While Bella had her daily chomp on her pot of grass.......

Peter and I headed out for a game of golf (minus the camera) and what an exciting game it turned out to be. After some terrible holes I somehow managed to tee off on hole number 4 (which is a par 3) with my 5 wood and the ball landed about 1 and a half meters from the hole and in it went first putt. My first BIRDIE! So I only have a shot of the ball I did it with.......

Peter got his first birdie back on the 20th May when we were playing lots during his long service leave.

Then it was out to Nicoles for some fresh scones, jam and cream for afternoon tea ( made by Nicole).......

And then a walk along the beach to burn off some of the calories.......

And some soccer with seaweed balls......

As usual Lucy found a pile of muck to roll in so Sarah volunteered to bath, blowdry and groom her, much to Lucy's disgust....

And so another weekend flys by.
