Happenings

It's that time of the year again when the winter chill sets in so that meant a few trips out to the wood yard to stock up...

Dad came to visit for a few days and we did a day trip to Busselton. We met up with Janelle at the Community Garden and had a wander around all the healthy vegies and fruit they were growing...

 We also enjoyed a lovely healthy lunch on the verandah of the "Peppi Cafe" at the gardens...

On June 1st we took Nicole and Daniel up to Perth, very excited to be heading off to Los Angeles via Auckland. They are going to travel around the west coast side of America and Canada for 4 weeks... 

We said our goodbyes and Peter and I went into the city to see Jesus Christ Superstar at the new Perth Arena...

 It is just as unusual on the inside as the outside!...

We had pretty good seats and the arena soon filled up to hold 12 000 people...

I enjoyed the show and it was great to hear Mel C sing live after so many years of listening to her as a Spice Girl all those years ago when the girls were all mad over them! Thankfully we read up on the story before we went otherwise I would not have had any idea what was going on. It was quite a short musical and we were back on the freeway by 10.30 pm and home just after midnight...

Janelle and I went down to our favourite health cafe in the south west Samudra. Only this time we were attending a dinner and evening talk by "Superfoods" guru David Wolfe on his Australian tour.  

 He has written many books and lectures all over the world so it was a great opportunity to see him...

 We sat down with hundreds of other people and were all served these spicy raw mexican wraps( a tad hot for me but still very nice)...

Then we listened for 3 hours and learnt that the No 1 superfood is chocolate (no not the sweet Cadbury type) but in the form of raw cacao!...

We were lucky enough to meet David as well and get our books signed...

 Its a shame his assistant is such a terrible photographer but here we are with him...

Our local cafe at the end of our street has had a revamp and we enjoyed some afternoon tea there yesterday -this little booth is called the naughty corner...

Nicole and Daniel have spent the past few days at the Grand Canyon and with limited wifi managed to get this photo out to us all...
