Janelle's Run

Yesterday Janelle competed in the HBF Run for a Reason Fun Run.

Emma dropped her off at the start nice and early to watch the sunrise!
Janelle managed to get up near the front in Group A behind the priority runners for the start...

The 14km course took them along Riverside Drive, the Mitchell Freeway, the Graham Farmer Freeway, around Burswood and finishing at the WACA...

..

Janelle's goal was to complete the 14kms in under 70 minutes. Her official time was 1:02:48 which she was very happy with. She came 551st out of the 9406 people that completed the course. In the female division she came 59th out of 6200 which is an awesome result. Well done Nelly!

Getting Closer

Our trip is getting very close now! I have finished my little travel quilt - all ready to be wined and dined on under the Eiffel Tower!

All our travel documents have arrived. Sarah has also received her Contiki trip tickets and itinerary, so now we just count down the days :)

Groovin the Moo

Nicole and Sarah both went to the big music festival held in Bunbury yesterday - Groovin the Moo- with about 20 000 other music lovers. Nicole went with Daniel, Danika and Kelsie and got to see her favourite artists of the day 360 and The Getaway Plan...

Sarah was very lucky to be given a VIP ticket from her friend Georgia and they enjoyed woodfired pizzas, heaters, couches, TV screens in the bathrooms complete with Lush handsoap and a selection of deodorants, hairsprays and lollies...

Sarahs favourites were the same as Nicole as well as Matt Corby and City and Colour. The weather was beautiful and sunny and unseasonally warm but very cold in the evening. A great time was had by all!

Hosting Mick

Peter had the job of organising a breakfast function for Bankwest customers with Mick Malthouse as the guest speaker. He met with Mick first and says he is a really nice man (quite different to the tough speaking football coach we all see on TV). Mick spoke about leadership and many of the guests commented that they could have listened to him for hours.

A huge relief for Peter that it went so well.

Mothers Day

It was very nice to have my 3 girls home this year for Mothers Day weekend. On Saturday we ALL went for a drive to Busselton for afternoon tea with Mum and Dad J. Super Sonic came for a ride and loves a bit of wind on his little nose...

On Mothers Day we had a nice breakfast at home and Janelle made pancakes...

In the garden

With the introduction of "green smoothies" into our diet we decided to grow our own greens rather than rely on the Farmers Market. The vegie patch is looking great at the moment and it is certainly very satisfying harvesting your own food. Growing very well is the Kale...

Celery...

Leeks...

Beetroot...

And the Silverbeet was beautiful until some invisible bug munched away at it...

The roses are flowering nicely and I got my big camera out one dewy morning...

My mini rose...

The white Chrysanthemum that grew so big and some great photography by Sarah...

We also have a sweet little resident in our garden...

And two more photos from Sarah - her fresh juice she made...

And her brekky one day...
