This fellow didn't move when my ball landed so close to him so we had to chase him away so I could have a hit.
We also got some "cat grass" which is for cats to chew on for vitamins and to stop fur balls. Bella chomped into it straight away.
The brocolli and cauliflour plants we planted a few weeks ago have been growing really well and survived our storms last week. I have also been enjoying the fresh spinach leaves.
Peter has been working on the paving again after some days rest from it. I now have a paved area to stand on while hanging out the washing so grass clipping all over my shoes will be a thing of the past......finally!
We went to Busselton yesterday to have lunch with Mum and Dad J at the chinese restaurant "The Jade". The food was very nice.
We drove home past the jetty which is now closed to the public for quite a while restoration work is being done.
It is so nice to lay on the chairs and feel the warmth of a wood fire.
Sarah and I had another go at making bread today. She did all the mixing and kneading and has taken the credit for this lot turning out better than the first loaf we made. We made this loaf smaller and used the excess dough to make some little buns which were very yummy.
We had it for tea with homemade chicken and vegie soup.....mmmm
All the pain will be worth it when her teeth are nice and straight.
Our sudden cold snap is continuing with hail this morning and the temperature only reaching about 13 degrees. Nearly time for the fire.
This is my belated Mothers Day present from Nicole. She is quite the artist and is enjoying doing some painting.
I finished this scarf for Sarah today. She chose the wool a while ago and thought she would make something but nothing happened. Its quite lumpy wool but made a nice scarf.
We took the dogs for a walk and watch the waves which are always great to watch crashing on the rocks. There wasn't much beach left to walk on.
We also got filmed by the GWN cameraman, hopefully it wont be footage they will use!

Most of the patio done but still needs sand put on it to fill the gaps and all the half bricks cut and laid.
Then we progress around the back and side of the house.
One more small thing, well big for Peter - today 20th May 2009 he got his first birdie at golf!
Sarah cooked herself an omelet for brekky. Then immersed herself in another book on loan from her SOCE teacher.
She then made us pizzas for lunch.
Peter and I went to see this hilarious musical ( he was one of the few males in the audience!)
Off to Cooinda Primary to cast our vote on daylight saving. We voted "Yes" not that we were really fussed either way but "No" won on the day.
Looked at our daunting task ahead!
Sarah and I attempted making out first loaf of bread from scratch. We waited so long for the first rise and nearly threw it out but warmed the oven and sat it in there and it eventually rose. Sarah found the kneading gave her a good workout!
After lots of messing around this was our result. A bit doughy but edible.

We hired the compactor for the weekend and Peter spent quite a few hours using it. Then we pulled up the existing patio pavers and laid them in the area that will hopefully be decking one day. This is only temporary to keep sand at minimum.

Today we just happened to be next to the lighthouse with the morning sun right behind it, very spectacular! As much as we need the rain the weather has been so nice and we have a few more days to enjoy before forecast rain arrives later next week.
