Sewing and gardening

Sarah has been busy learning how to sew using my sewing machine. She picked it up quickly and can sew very straight.

We found some old remnants from my patchwork days and she also went to Spotlight and chose some fabrics. After a bit of practise she decided to make "something".

Sarah was very pleased with herself making this pillow case. She did a great job.

We have been doing quite a bit of gardening this weekend. This is how my poor lemon tree looks now that it has lost most of its leaves thanks to the pool water that was poured onto it. The little lemons have managed to stay on so we will wait and see if they mature or drop off as well.

We also had a big cleanout in the side garden which also had to have lots of dead foliage removed (also thanks to pool water). It needed a good cleanout and then we topped it up with some stinky mushroom compost.It actually looks quite empty now so we will put in some new plants when all the other mess is sorted out.
