Croissants

One of Janelle's goals was to make homemade Croissants. She found an easy recipe in a cookbook called "Frame by Frame Cooking" which she received for Christmas. They were quite time consuming to make (not to mention the mess in the kitchen) but she got them made...


They were very yummy warm with butter and jam.

Cape Le Grande

Today we had Dad's bacon and eggs cookup for breakfast...

We then travelled out to Cape Le Grande and had a picnic lunch on the beach...

Then it was over to Frenchman Peak for the girls to climb. We went part of the way but couldn't be bothered going all the way to the top with them...

Here they are right up the top (3 tiny little dots!)...

There were so many stunning orange "Christmas Trees" out in full bloom...

We also called into Lucky Bay and had a walk on the clean white squeaky beach and a padlle in the crystal clear water...just beautiful...

After travelling back to Esperance it was "Bobs" icecream time...

We took the dogs for a walk along the foreshore to the jetty. Dad and Janelle made some beer damper from a recipe in his new bush cookbook for tea...

It was then time to gather everything up and pack for the long trip home.

Boxing Day

We took the dogs for a walk down to Bobs to get the paper while Nicole and Janelle went off for a jog. Sarah relaxed. We went to Rodney and Julie's house for a lovely relaxed lunch. The girls enjoyed spending time with their cousins. The 2 "redheads" of the family did a puzzle together...

After another day of eating too much it was time for some exercise. We walked up Rotary Lookout and did the walk trail down to West Beach...

Lucy and Bella had a run...

And we enjoyed the scenery...

Christmas

This year we all travelled down to Esperance to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. Janelle and I left just after 10 for the long drive with the dogs in her little car. Peter, Nicole, Sarah and Pippy left at lunchtime.
We all checked our stockings to see what Santa had bought us...

We did some food preparation then had our Christmas photos...

Opened pressies...

Enjoyed a nice long lunch with the family...

Had a water fight with cousins...

Relaxed...Played with gifts...

And thought about cleaning up the mess...

A very nice and relaxing Christmas Day 2010 was had by us all.

Happenings

Just a quick update on a few things we have been doing lately. On Friday night Dec 10th Peter and I went to Perth to see The Eagles concert. We saw them a few years ago and they are still a very talented group of musicians. It was a great night...

Kyle drove over from Denmark for another visit greeting Janelle with lovely flowers (all her favourite colour yellow) and "handmade by Kyle" chocolates...

They had a dressup 21st to go to and went as a French couple...

We went and had a look at some Christmas lights. This one seems to be the town favourite this year with the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Leaning Tower if Pisa. It is a huge setup and very spectacular (not quite as good as the real thing though!)...

Yesterday we went to Busselton for a pre Christmas meal with Mum and Dad J and Sue and Nick...

Love this egg plate complete with salt and pepper chooks Mum J dug up from her archives which we have never seen before...

Nicole wasn't able to come with us as she was working at her new nightfill job at Coles (to pay for her recent speeding fine.........and holiday).

Today is Christmas pudding making day, its now steaming away for 5 hours...
