10 Years!

Today is my 10 year anniversary of working at Woolworths Bunbury Plaza...

I thought that was a significant enough milestone to reward myself. So I decided to add a charm to my Pandora bracelet...

A money bag as the dollars are the only reason I go there week after week.

Weekending

Another weekend flies by, here's a few things we got up to...

Peter bought Janelle home from Trinity and the rest of her stuff from her room cleanout. It is all in our spare room now waiting for a big sort out...

I did some work on my new sewing project...

Peter kept working on the paving, we are now waiting for our delivery of some more bricks to finish it...

He also did some potato harvesting, even though some of them were rather odd shapes he was pretty happy with his first crop...

After all being inspired by watching Tiger Woods play in the Australian Masters all weekend we thought we could be just like him and headed out for a round of golf. We took Janelle and as she had to carry clubs to play she took Dad's old bag from the 70's and used my clubs.

She had a great time and was rewarded with her first PAR on hole number 7... It took me months... WELL DONE NELLY (and she didn't have to study for it!)

A few things

Another bean bag to lounge around in.....thanks Nelly...

Some roses for the Smith Family....

A hamper made at school by Sarah with good old fashioned cooking (lemon butter, shortbread, lemon slice and a fruit slice). All prepared and made in her cooking class and very yummy...

It takes so much time and effort to get to work...

And then there is just too much temptation (and not much pay left!) while she is there..

One year of Medicine study DONE....

Weekending

A few things we got up to:

Nicole decided to have a change and got her hair cut short...

Sarah cooked us some yummy wedges for lunch...Peter spent a lot of time in the garden and got some soil in the new extended bit...Soon we will decide on some plants for the area.

It was time for another scrabble challenge and I completed the hat trick of winning the last three times we have played. This is how I found the board in the morning, must be a sore loser in the family Sarah?....

We now have the spa on order so it time to get the area ready. Peter thought the decking idea was just all too hard so we are extending the new pavers instead. So he made a start with his trusty little helper...We went out to play a game of golf but the course was closed for a competition so we had to settle with just hitting some balls off the driving range. But I must make mention of his score on Saturday morning when he went out with bank guys... he got 46 for his 9 holes, he was very pleased with himself!

And Janelle just kept on studying for her last exam.

Off to work! and Halloween and stuff

Sarah has a new job! She is now working at the Bunbury Forum Pharmacy where Janelle worked for her gap year. It was a mad rush to find her some clothes that she was happy with (had to black and white). We had lots of disagreements on appropriate clothes and hairdo's. Anyway she came home very overwhelmed with what had to be learnt and is enjoying the experience.

She is still into her sewing and quite excited about being able to buy some of her own fabrics now that she has an income. This skirt was her latest creation.....

Nicole had a HALLOWEEN PARTY at her house. She put on her new apron (made by mum) and made some Halloween cupcakes...

Their costumes looked great here's Nicole and Anthony...

And a group shot...A few other happenings.....

I got a new pair of golf shoes, not sure they will make much difference to my terrible game but its worth a try...

We looked after Smith's dog Koota the carrot loving dog for a few days, he is such a good boy.....

Peter moved limestone bricks into place to extend the patio garden and cemented some of them...

Two random things......had to buy these PINK PEGS to support the breast cancer foundation...

And my double yolked boiled egg thanks to the Smith's chooks...

Janelle is busy doing study, study and more study and is now halfway throught exams. Hang in there Nelly!!!!!!!!

Weekending

I was on canteen duty on Friday and finally remembered to take my camera up to school to take a photo of the Dux Honour board with Janelle's name on it....
I finished Janelle's quilt....
It had been a while since our last scrabble challenge and once again I have to brag that I was the winner with another score over 200 (205) to be exact!

Peter spent quite a bit of time tending to his vegies which are all coming along very nicely...
Bella got over excited chasing lizards in the sun and had to take a break, she couldn't move from her water bowl after getting too hot...
We drove up to Mandurah and picked up Janelle after she caught the train from Perth. She has come home for a few nights as it is study break week at uni. We indulged ourselves with a Simmos icecream before coming back to Bunbury...
Nicole went to the annual Brunswick show on Saturday and then down to Wilyabrup to watch her mates do rock climbing. They are all a bit sunburnt.
Last week Janelle was lucky to go to Swan Lake Ballet in Perth. She thoroughly enjoyed the performance and thought she could be a ballerina as well...

Janelle's study quilt

I have been working on a quilt for Janelle to take outside and lay on the grass at Trinity to do her study on. Finally it is finished and today we gave it to her.

Whenever I had to put it down flat to sort something out or trim it my 2 trusty helpers were always around to test it out....

I hand embroidered Janelle Live, Love, Laugh, Cherish love Mum and the date on the back...

Hand stitching the binding was very time consuming but finished it off nicely....

Here's the happy recipient...
