One Year

Today Nicole and Daniel celebrated their one year anniversary as boi and girl! Nicole was very spoilt and received this beautiful bunch of a dozen roses - one for each month...
They make a lovely couple and we hope they celebrate many more years together :)

Cocktail Night

Sarah and Megan decided to have a night of mixing themselves some cocktails and taste testing...
Not sure how much got drunk but they both seemed fine the next morning!

Cousins visit

It was nice to have Rodney, Julie, Lisa and Toby come and stay with us for a few nights on their way home from holidays up north. The girls love to catch up with them and revisit their childhood with games! Nicole was the entertainer one night and they spent ages with one of her "toys" the Ipod and had so much fun taking photos then distorting them...

Sarah's fun had to include makeup and she had fun painting fingernails and toenails transforming faces...
Good times!

Perth trip

Peter had to go to a corporate golf day in Perth and the bank was lind enough to invite partners along for a weekend in Perth. I got dropped off at Trinity and waited for Janelle to finish her uni for the day. We got busy and iced the cupcakes for Kyles surprise party...
We then packed everthing up that Janelle had got ready for the party and the cakes and drove over to the Albion Hotel in Cottesloe. They had set it up a bit and the baloons had arrived. All was going well until Janelle's laptop wouldn't work through the projector system to show all the phots and video she had put together so we stood around for what seemed like hours helping to get it to work with the staff. Then Kyle had decided to go to Trinity so the surprise was turning against Janelle. Anyway with a few white lies we picked him up and they took me over to Burswood. Turns out after they had dinner Janelle took him to the Albion (he got a little suspicious) and was very surprised with the party and costumes and a great night was had by all...
While the party was happening Peter and I met with some of his customers for dinner at the new Japanese restaurant in the Burswood called "Nobu". Our dinner guests had dined there before and knew we were very basic eaters so they ordered all the food. It was the most beautiful food and I would have to say I think it is the best dining experience we had both ever had. We were very brave and had raw fish, raw tuna and raw lobster. Peter also went for the raw beef...

Lobster done 3 ways - cooked in the middle and raw front and back

The next morning we drove over to see our very special friend Nanna A for morning tea. We bought her some lovely flowers and went to her unit. At one week away from her 98th birthday she was looking very well. She is still living independently, baking, making jams and chutneys, playing her organ, writing her life story on the computer, gardening and sewing.

Beautiful Nanna A
We had a lovely time with her and we are so lucky to know such an inspirational lady who lives the simple life to the fullest.
After a quick trip to a local Spotlight we made our way over to South Perth for the Masonic Lodge awards presentation ceremony. Janelle had once again been awarded a nice sum of money to help her with her studies and these generous people have been her sponsors over the past 4 years...
It was a nice mini break away but we did come home to a stressed Sarah and a partially defrosted freezer...fun.

Remembering Grandma

Today we think of my Grandma on what is her 100th birthday. She passed away on 17th June 1996. She lived a quiet and simple life married to Grandpa (Headley) and raising her 4 children...

A beautiful young lady...
On her wedding day...

With her first born (my Daddy Ken)...

    The family in 1986...

Grandma, Grandpa, Dad, Neil, Carol and Rex.

I thought of Grandma with a cup of tea in a teacup from the set she gave me many years ago. The teaset was an engagement present she received over 70 years ago...

RIP Grandma.

Easter

Janelle took a trip down to Denmark to surprise Kyle and celebrate his 21st with his family...

When she came home she also surprised me with the job of helping her with making Power Ranger costumes for a surprise pary she is organising for Kyle...

On Easter Sunday we had a lovely breakfast then what could be the last traditional easter egg hunt (now that Sarah is officially an adult!)...

A nice little shot of Nicoles family...
The weather was beautiful over the weekend and apart from making costumes we did get out to enjoy the beach...
Lucy loving the beach

 And of course some cooking...

OMG this post has taken me hours and I really don't know what I am doing thanks to Blogger changing everything!!!!!!!
