Paris Day 8 - Sarah Day

First up today was some washing. We then caught the train over to the dodgy area Sarah was staying in - it was quite a long way. We walked the quiet streets and found the motel and I went up to their room. It was tiny but they had packed up and Sarah looked like a ghost and was feeling terrible. We all caught a taxi to St Christophers Backpackers where Sarah and Georgia were going to stay for a few nights. With Sarah feeling so terrible and their room not available yet we caught the train back to our apartment and had some lunch.

Pont Neuf -oldest standing bridge in Paris

I wanted Sarah to stay and have a sleep (she had  hardly any the night before trying to get back to motel on the metro after the fireworks) but she insisted on coming to the markets with us. So back on the train and all the way out to Marche Saint-Ouen. As we got closer we could tell we were getting out into the not so nice area of Paris and once we arrived at Clignancourt station we didn't fell comfortable at all. We wandered through the clothing section of the markets and decided this wasn't our thing and eventually found more antique style sections. So thats where we spent the next few hours finding a few bits and pieces to buy (an old plate, serving utensils and a glass jug for me)...

Would have loved to fit one of these in my suitcase...
With all that market shopping we were hungry and no way were we going to find somewhere to eat in this area so it was back on the train  and get off at a station fairly close to the backpackers Sarah was staying at. We found a nice restaurant and had dinner and then went back to train station to say our goodbyes. I wasn't keen on leaving Sarah as she was getting worse but I had to leave her in Georgia's care as we were leaving in the morning. Sarah was feeling so terrible she just wanted to go home to Australia and she was in Paris!
We got off the train near Notre Dame and did a bit of last minute souvenir shopping...

Then we had our last train ride (had spent about 3 hours on it today) back home. One last sit by the tower and admire...
A few more photos...

And home to pack :(
