Once again we enjoyed breakfast on the rooftop...
With all our packing done we had a few hours to spare before we would be picked up to go to the airport. There was a protest happening outside the House of Parliament right next to out hotel...We went back to the Trevi fountain and could get to the water this time as not too many people were out and about yet - so we tossed our coins in...
The fountain is not very attractive with all the scaffolding on...
We looked in a few shops and went into the Pantheon again. I stood outside the restaurant we had eaten at last night and used their wifi to see how Sarah was going. She was feeling well enough to go wandering around Paris.Just enough time for a last gelato...
And back to the hotel for a shower and wait to be picked up...
A mini bus came and got us just after 12. We then had to pick up some more people. We then spent half an hour going up and down all these tiny cobble stone streets crowded with people as some of the major roads were closed. We only needed to get to a hotel next to the Trevi Fountain - only a few minutes walk from where we were staying! It was getting late and we still had a long drive to the airport. The poor guy who was picked up before us was starting to get anxious as his flight was before ours. When we finally got to the airport and found our checkin counter we stood in the queue for over an hour - behind a Chinese school music group. It was almost our boarding time and still had to get through security so we had queue for ages again. We ran to our gate number - Peter ran into a shop and bought some water and a chocolate bar - and got ushered straight onto the plane. We were very hungry and couldn't believe it took us nearly 3 hours non-stop travelling and in queues to get on the plane. We were on the big A380 again and had good seats and lovely food (yes Dad ate every crumb of that meal!). It was a 5 hour flight to Dubai and when we arrived in Dubai at 11.30 pm it was still 40 degrees! We sat around and waited - managed to get in contact with Sarah again - and departed Dubai at 2.45am. It was a 10 hour flight to Perth. I had a head cold and there were so many people coughing and spluttering all trip. We arrived in Perth at 5.30pm and got through customs quite easily. Found the car and headed home to a relieved Nicole and 2 very happy dogs.

And had fun unpacking...
And dreaming about another holiday....
All good things must come to an end and we had so much fun exploring and experiencing the different countries and cities. We had lots of laughs (mainly at Dad's expence) and are still talking to one another!
